STATE COLLEGE — First Night State College is known for its dazzling ice sculptures, created by its highly skilled team of ice carvers. This year, the public is invited to add snow to the event — snowflakes made from paper. As a community craft project, First Night State College calls on the public to create and send event organizers paper snowflakes for display in various locations in the Centre Region. “We’re so excited to bring First Night back, and we’d love to have the public be part of our return by creating

paper snowflakes. They’re easy and inexpensive to make, and each one is unique—just like the person who made it. The variety of snowflakes will reflect our community’s diversity” noted Rick Bryant, Executive Director, Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, the producer of First Night State College.
Bryant continued, “If you’ve forgotten how to make paper snowflakes, just Google “creating paper snowflakes” — it’s all right there and couldn’t be easier. Even I can do it.”
Details about the project can be found online at: https://arts-festival.com/let-it-snow/
This is a great project to do with a group of friends, your family or a holiday party. Have fun with it.
Snowflakes should be mailed to CPFA, PO Box 1023, State College, PA 16804 no later than Dec. 24. Look for snowflakes around town in the ensuing days.
