PHILIPSBURG — The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a break-in at the Dead Canary Brewing Company in Philipsburg on the night of Thursday, Aug. 22, the brewery announced on social media.
According to the Dead Canary Brewing Company, which caught the burglary on surveillance cameras, the break-in occurred between 10:30 p.m. and 2:15 a.m.
“Folks, we need your help. As some of you may know, over the last few months there have been multiple break-ins to our beloved taproom,” a Facebook post by Dead Canary said. “We are a community-focused brewery, and we are asking your help, as our community, to identify this person.”
Surveillance footage showed a person wearing blue jeans and a black sweatshirt or rain jacket. The post noted that the suspect appeared to have long black hair, but it may be a wig. Footage also showed the suspect covering their face with an umbrella when entering the building.
“It goes beyond saying that we are hurting over this, not only financially, but emotionally. Repeatedly losing hundreds of dollars, along with costs of repairs has been tough to stomach. While we were hoping upgraded security and vigilance on our part would solve the issue, it seems that we need more help,” the post noted.
“We ask anyone with any information to contact us, or the Pennsylvania State Police directly.”
