STATE COLLEGE—A new middle grade book by debut author, C.M. Cornwell, has
been released. The Memory Spinner is a deeply heartfelt fantasy novel, according to a recent
press release. The main character, Lavender, makes a bargain with an enchantress to help bring
back lost memories of Lavender’s deceased mother. She has suffered from problems with
memory since her mother died. Lavender is afraid she will forget her mother. She also worries
that she won’t remember the ingredients and mixtures to be an apothecary apprentice.
The price is high for such a bargain, and it could cost Lavender’s village everything.
Like fairytales, there are talking birds, enchanted items and all the whimsical twists that make
fairytales so much fun.
C.M. Cornwell grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and enjoyed her childhood with seven
siblings. Tree-climbing and brewing potions were common activities for her. She has an English
Literature Degree from Utah Valley University in Orem City, Utah. She wrote a first book, which
is currently being edited for re-release in spring of 2027. Its title is Paper Ballerina.
