  • As of late March, Penn State had no commits for its 2027 recruiting class, but things have picked up rapidly since then. Since Semajay Robinson, a 4-star cornerback from Florida, committed on March 28, nine other players have committed to the class. They include 4-star tight end Cooper Terwilliger from South Dakota; Landon Blum, 4-star wide receiver from Iowa; Carter Blattner, edge rusher from New Jersey; and Blake Betton, from Minnesota, the first linebacker in the class.
  • State College standout running back D’Antae Sheffey is among the players in this year’s freshman class at PSU. As a senior at SC, Sheffey ran for 1613 yards, an average of 135 per game, and scored 24 touchdowns. He will join a talented and crowded running back room on coach Campbell’s first PSU team.
  • Coming in somewhat under the radar with all the ISU people, Texas State transfer center Brock Riker has been getting high praise as he joins the Nittany Lions. Coming into an almost totally rebuilt offensive line at center, Riker has been talked about as being potentially one of the best in the Big Ten.
  • Fans attending the Blue-White Practice on Saturday will be witnessing two giant rebuilding projects going on at the same time: the Nittany Lion football team and Beaver Stadium. Both are scheduled to be ready for the opener against Marshall on Sept. 5.
