Christians with Rhythm Choir Concert — Saturday, July 13
The Christians with Rhythm Choir “brings back oldies but goodies” in a concert at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Howard. The annual summer concert is titled “Take Me Back” this year. Guests are invited for an evening of old-time toe-tapping hymns. The concert is free, but donations are accepted and go toward the choir’s music ministry. Refreshments will also be provided.

BookFest — Saturday, July 13
BookFestPA will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, in the parking lot of Schlow Centre Region Library in State College. Literary fans are invited to meet authors and artists who work for large and independent publishing companies. There will also be children’s, teen and adult books available for purchase.

Community Jazz Jam — Saturday, July 13
3 Dots Downtown is hosting a Community Jazz Jam from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, outside the organization’s location in downtown State College. The jam will be led by experienced players of all ages, but players and singers of all levels are welcome to walk right up and play.

State College Photo Club Monthly Meeting — Monday, July 15
The State College Photo Club is meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at the Patton Township Municipal Building conference room in State College. The club meets on the third Monday of every month. The meetings feature presentations, competitions, field trips and exhibitions. The event is free and open to the public.

Vacation Bible School at Greater Buffalo Run Valley United Methodist Church — Monday, July 15, through Thursday, July 18
Greater Buffalo Run Valley United Methodist Church will have its vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8 p.m. beginning Monday, July 15, through Thursday, July 18, at the church’s new location in Bellefonte. The theme is “Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity,” where students will join Daniel as he finds courage in the face of fear. Tuesdays on the Terrace — Tuesday, July 16
Tuesdays on the Terrace is an open mic and variety showcase hosted by Joe Belle from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at 3 Dots in downtown State College. All talents are welcome to the lighthearted accessible evening on the patio. Guests are invited to perform a song, sing karaoke, deliver a monologue, share a poem or delight the audience with whatever inspires them. The event is free.

Penn State University Park’s Dr. Keiko Miwa Ross Student Farm is hosting Poetry, Storytelling and Culture of Beans from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16. Guests are invited to enjoy stories about beans, poetry and art workshops while celebrating culture in agriculture.
