Halfmoon Christian Fellowship Church 2024 Craft Fair — Saturday, Nov. 2

The Halfmoon Christian Fellowship Church will host its 2024 Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the church in Port Matilda. There will be specialized craft vendors, Christmas and seasonal items, homemade soup, home baked goods and lunch items for sale.

Bellefonte Sunday Afternoon Chamber Music Series: Revamped — Sunday, Nov. 3

The next concert for the Bellefonte Sunday Afternoon Concert Series will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Bellefonte. Sponsored by the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association, Revamped has an exciting and eclectic program featuring Mark Minnich and Sally Williams Minnich. The event is free and open to the public.

IEP’s Unveiled: A Parent’s Guide to Understanding the IEP Process — Monday, Nov. 4

The Family Self Sufficiency Program for Centre County Housing Authority is hosting IEP’s Unveiled: A Parent’s Guide to Understanding the IEP Process from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, at the University Area Joint Authority Community Room in State College. The free workshop will feature a presentation from the assistant director of the Pennsylvania Training and Advocacy Network, Christopher Cherny, who will offer insights into understanding and navigating the IEP process. There will also be local education advocates will be available after the presentation to answer questions about IEP.

Knit Wits — Monday, Nov. 4

Members of the community are invited to bring their knitting or crocheting projects from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, at the Holt Memorial Library in Philipsburg. All skill levels are welcome to join. There is no set project, so guests are asked to bring what they are currently working on.

Bird Walks with The State College Bird Club — Tuesday, Nov. 5

The State College Bird Club is inviting participants to start off their day observing local birds from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center in State College. The bird walks are guided by members of the State College Bird Club and are open to all ages. Guests are asked to dress weather-ready and bring binoculars. The program is free but a donation of $5 per participant is encouraged and supports Millbrook Marsh Nature Center.

Smoking Cessation Presentation — Thursday, Nov. 7

There will be an interactive presentation all about quitting smoking at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Community Room of the Bellefonte Library Branch of the Centre County Library and Historical Museum. Presented by local health insurer, AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania, participants will learn the dangers of smoking, potential effects on pregnancy, reasons to quit, covered quit assists available and steps and resources to quit.

Life Recovery Meeting — Thursday, Nov. 7

There will be a Life Recovery Meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Access Church in State College. The group will go over the 12 steps of recovery, a set of biblical principles in substance use disorder treatment that outlines a plan of action for taking on drug and/or alcohol addiction.
