Snow Shoe Rails to Trails Spaghetti Dinner and Dice Run — Saturday, June 1
The seventh annual SSRTA/Truck Stuff, Spaghetti Dinner and Dice Run will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, at the Moshannon Community Center in Snow Shoe. The public is invited for a meal with all-you-can-eat spaghetti, salad, dessert and beverages until supplies run out. The Spaghetti Dinner is $12 per person with takeout available, and kids under 6 eat for free. The Pine Creek Four Wheelers will have a Dice Run during the event. The Dice Run is $22 including the meal and $10 for just the Dice Run. Registration for the Dice Run is from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Gillentown Trailhead.

Tempest Studios Community Dance Party — Saturday, June 1
The Tempest Studios Community Dance Party will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Tempest Studios in downtown State College. Tempest Studios is teaming up with VanDance Inc. for an all-ages and all-experiences dance party.

Palmer Museum of Art Public Opening Weekend — Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2
Come and celebrate the public opening of the new home of the Palmer Museum of Art on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, at the Arboretum at Penn State. The festivities will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The museum is free to attend and there will be free parking in the Lewis Katz Building parking lot across from the museum throughout the weekend. Some of the opening weekend festivities include crafts, refreshments and more activities. The Downtown State College Improvement District is sponsoring free bus shuttles from the art museum to downtown State College so guests can experience downtown’s restaurants and shops.

Summer Sounds from the Gazebo — Sunday, June 2
Summer Sounds from the Gazebo returns at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte. The Sorters will be performing and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.

Outdoor Adventure Expo — Saturday, June 2
The Outdoor Adventure Expo is from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jue 2, at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte. The Outdoor Adventure Expo highlights Bellefonte’s natural assets while showcasing local vendors, nonprofits and businesses specializing in outdoor and recreation activities and products. The free event also serves as a fundraiser for Downtown Bellefonte Inc. to assist with its economic development plans. The event also includes free workshops on topics such as kayaking, fly fishing, milkweed seed balls, cooking demonstrations, beekeeping, backpacking, hammock camping, camping gear basics and more. There will also be historical walking tours and croquet games for guests to enjoy.

South Hills Free Music Picnic — Sunday, June 2
The South Hills School of Business & Technology’s first event of the 2024 Music Picnic Series will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, on the north lawn of South Hills’ main campus in State College. The Rocket Blasters will perform at the free outdoor concert. The Rocket Blasters is a State College band that plays hit songs ranging from the 1960s to today. The concert will go on rain or shine and guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

Family Fishing Picnic — Sunday, June 2
ClearWater Conservancy is kicking off its eighth season of Centred Outdoors with the Family Fishing Picnic from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, at Tussey Mountain Pond, 301 Bear Meadows Road in Boalsburg. The event is hosted by the Spring Creek Chapter Trout Unlimited, ClearWater Conservancy and other organizations. The event offers fishing experiences, a picnic lunch, kids’ activities, fly casting stations, guided hikes and other activities. The event is free, and registration is not required. All fishing equipment will also be provided. Galbraith Gap guided hikes will be offered at the event at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Free Cancer Education Talk at Howard UMC — Sunday, June 2
There will be a free Cancer Education Talk from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 2, at Howard United Methodist Church in Howard. The Penn State Cancer Institute and the ACCION in PA Study are looking for community members to participate in an anonymous survey and group education session about colorectal cancer and screening. The study is specifically looking for English speakers between the ages of 45 and 75. In addition to being asked to complete two anonymous surveys, guests can participate in colorectal cancer screening sessions as well as receive an at-home colorectal cancer screening kit for those eligible at no cost. Guests are invited to come earlier for a breakfast potluck and brief worship.

Benefit Concert for Ukraine — Tuesday, June 4
Concert for Ukraine will feature classical Ukrainian music at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, at Grace Lutheran Church in State College. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Sister City of Nizhyn as well as communities in the Kharkiv region via the local humanitarian aid organization Sister’s Sister Inc. There will be performers from the Penn State music faculty and more professional musicians from the region. Donations will be accepted at the door.
