Centre Gives Watch Party — Thursday, May 15

Port Matilda EMS is hosting a watch party event during Centre Gives at the Original Brothers Pizza of Stormstown from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 15.

At the watch party, there will be tours of the new ambulance and van in addition to food specials, entertainment and giveaways.

The public is welcome to attend.

Sumer is for the Locals Townie Takeover — Friday, May 16

Rediscover State College is teaming up with the Penn State student hot spot Champs Downtown to kick off the summer for locals from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 16.

Townies old and new are invited to come out to this meet and greet opportunity for residents to connect.

Downtown State College Farmers Market — Friday, May 16

The Downtown State College Farmers Market will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 16, at the intersection of East College Avenue and Locust Lane in State College.

The market operates every Friday through Friday, Nov. 21, and features a variety of items for sale, including locally grown produce, plants, food, meat, flowers, wellness products and much more.

Centre Furnace Mansion Plant Celebration — Saturday, May 17

The Centre County Historical Society is hosting the 29th Annual Plant Celebration from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Centre Furnace Mansion in State College.

Guests are invited to bring their gardening questions, plant samples and identification questions for Penn State Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners of Centre County. The Master Gardeners will be on hand throughout the celebration.

The Plant Celebration will feature both native and non-native plants such as herbs, annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs. There will also be coffee, tea and baked goods for sale from Standing Stone Coffee.

Bellefonte Farmers Market — Saturday, May 17

The Bellefonte Farmers Market is back in full swing from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 17, in the gravel parking lot adjacent to Centre Peace in Bellefonte.

There will be locally grown produce, frozen meats, live plants, dried florals, fresh eggs and much more.

Bellefonte Emergency Medical Services Open House — Saturday, May 17

In conjunction with EMS Week, Bellefonte EMS is hosting an Open House from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at Bellefonte EMS.

Past volunteers are encouraged to attend along with the public to check out the new vehicles, talk with others and take a trip down memory lane.

Bellefonte police will also be on-site to provide car seat safety checks, light refreshments will be available.

Wild Wellness — Saturday, May 17

Join the Arboretum at Penn State for a day of both free and paid programming that explores the connection between nature and well-being. The event Wild Wellness will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Arboretum.

Guests can experience mindfulness, movement and restorative activities that promote holistic health. The sessions range from guided meditation to nature-based workshops. The community is invited to come out and reconnect with nature.

College Township Barn Dance — Saturday, May 17

Members of the community are invited to celebrate College Township’s 150th anniversary with a Barn Dance Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. at Millbrook Marsh in State College.

Guests are encouraged to get dressed up in their “Pennsylvania hoedown attire.” There will be games, food and family fun from 6 to 7 p.m. at the barn and an all-ages Contra dance session led by Bruce Young with music by the Strath Hanna Duo.

The event is free and open to the public.

Bellefonte Sunday Afternoon Chamber Music Series: Stonebridge Winds — Sunday, May 18

The Bellefonte Sunday Afternoon Chamber Music Series will present the Stonebridge Winds at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Bellefonte.

Sponsored by the Bellefonte Cultural and Historical Society is sponsoring the concert, which features Ashley Shank on flute, Graham MacKenzie on oboe, Christina Smith on horn, Maragret Fay on bassoon and Anthony Poehailos on clarinet.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Sunday Funday — Sunday, May 18

Smith + Front is teaming up with Brass 16823 for its 2025 Sunday Funday series from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, in the parking lot of Titan Energy Park in Bellefonte.

The event will feature a pop-up market, food trucks, live music and more.

Centre County Ballroom Dance — Sunday, May 18

The next Centre County Ballroom Dance will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at Lambert Hall in Bellefonte.

Jean Michel, a professional dancer and instructor, will teach a lesson with his dance partner, Deborah Kincaid, and will also perform a showcase dance. Michel and performed and taught around the world, has placed first as the National Champion of Mambo and has been a finalist in many other major competitions in the U.S. Michel also made a guest appearance on season 11 of Dancing with the Stars.

The ballroom dance is $10 per person, and guests are asked to bring a snack to share.

Print Factory Writing Group — Sunday, May 18

The Print Factory Writing Group will meet at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at the Print Factory in Bellefonte.

The new writing group is aimed at connecting and supporting local writers. Everyone is welcome to bring a project they’re working on or a book they’d like to read.

Knit Wits — Monday, May 19

Community members are invited to bring their knitting or crocheting projects from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 19, at the Holt Memorial Library in Philipsburg.

All skill levels are welcome to join. There is no set project, so guests are asked to bring what they are currently working on.

Boalsburg Farmers Market — Tuesday, May 20

The Boalsburg Farmers Market is back for the season from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, on the Military Museum Grounds in Boalsburg.

There will be flowers, locally grown produce, eggs, meats, cheeses, food, self-care products and much more.

Nittany Baptist Church Children’s Program — Wednesday, May 21

Nittany Baptist Church will have its AWANA program for kids in grades kindergarten through sixth at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at the church in State College.

The program is designed to build a spiritual foundation in children to help them navigate life using the nationally recognized AWANA program. The program will be in building two. For more information, call 814-360-7157.

Happy Valley Puzzle Brewery Puzzle Competition — Thursday, May 22

Enter as a pair to see how quickly you can complete a 300-piece jigsaw puzzle at the Happy Valley Puzzle Brewery Puzzle Competition at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, at Axemann Brewery in Bellefonte.

The cost to participate is $30 per set of partners. All experience levels are welcome, and registration can be found online at linktr.ee/HappyValleyPuzzles.

Drop-In Guided Tour: Images of Power — Thursday, May 22

Guests are invited to a drop-in guided tour at the Palmer Museum of Art at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, in State College.

The tour will revolve around the Palmer’s different exhibitions and collections with a knowledgeable guide.
