First Friday — Friday, June 6

Members of the community are invited to experience the cool vibes of downtown State College with its monthly First Friday event at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 6, in the MLK Plaza downtown State College.

Organized by the Downtown Improvement District, participants can experience a casual atmosphere with art, people-watching, mingling, shopping and dining. First Friday attendees get after-hours access to downtown State College’s businesses with free parking in the Pugh, Fraser and Beaver garages. Validation can be found at participating businesses.

Friday Concert on the Village Green — Friday, June 6

The Tussey Mountain Moonshiners will perform the Friday Concert on the Village Green from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Lemont Village Green in Lemont.

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair for sitting and guests are welcome to bring a picnic.

Ice cream cones will be served by Scout Troop 367 with a contribution to the troop for projects.

Light of the World Clothing Bank — Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7

The Light of the World Clothing Bank will be open from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 6 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 7, at Saint John’s United Church of Christ in Bellefonte.

Free clothes will be available for everyone from babies to adults.

Civil War Weekend in Bellefonte — Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8

All weekend in Bellefonte the Civil War Weekend will be going on from Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8, throughout downtown Bellefonte.

There will be exhibitions, an encampment, demonstrations, live music, lectures, cemetery tours and more to provide a glimpse into the Civil War for modern community members.

State College Pride Parade and Festival — Saturday, June 7

The annual downtown State College Pride Parade and Festival kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, in downtown State College.

A festival in the Sidney Friedman Park will follow the parade.

43rd Annual Lemont Strawberry Festival — Saturday, June 7

The 43rd Annual Lemont Strawberry Festival will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, at the Lemont Village Green in Lemont.

At the event, there will be art activities from the Art Alliance of Centre County, games from Centre Point Church and “speeder” rides from the Bellefonte Historical Railroad for $5 per person.

Juniper Villages at Brookline’s Father’s Day Car Show — Sunday, June 8

Juniper Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation is hosting a car show to celebrate Father’s Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, at Juniper Village at Brookline in State College.

Juniper is looking to fill its parking lot with all kinds of different vehicles and owners to talk about their cars with residents and families. The event is free and open to the public. Summer Sounds from the Gazebo — Sunday, June 8

Summer Sounds from the Gazebo will feature the Cats Eye Duo with Jay Vonada and Miss Melanie at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte.

The concert series began in 1981, bringing free mini-concerts to local residents from June through August.

Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for sitting.

Sunday Funday — Sunday, June 8

Smith + Front is teaming up with Brass 16823 for its 2025 Sunday Funday series from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, in the parking lot of Titan Energy Park in Bellefonte.

The event will feature a pop-up market, food trucks, live music and more.

South Hills 2025 Summer Concert Series — Sunday, June 8

The South Hills School of Business and Technology is hosting its 36th annual Summer Music Picnic Series, with the Nittany Knights at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, on the North Lawn of the school in State College.

Music begins at 6 p.m. and guests are asked to bring their picnic dinner, drinks, chairs and blankets to enjoy music on the lawn.

Centre County Ballroom Dance — Sunday, June 8

The next Centre County Ballroom Dance will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, at Lambert Hall in Bellefonte.

The dance will kick off with a Bachata dance lesson from 2 to 2:30 p.m.

The ballroom dance is $10 per person, and guests are asked to bring a snack to share.

Spring Family Movie Night — Monday, June 9

Saint Mark Lutheran Church is hosting its Spring Family Movie Night showing “The Wild Robot” at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 9, at the church in Howard.

Guests are invited to bring chairs or blankets to the free movie for sitting. There will also be popcorn and snacks available at the event.

Nittany Valley Writers Network Meeting — Tuesday, June 10

The Nittany Valley Writers Network will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, in the Community Room of the Schlow Centre Region Library in State College.

Attendees are invited to bring a short writing sample to share or come just to listen to and connect with other local writers.

The event is free and open to the public. The Nittany Valley Writers Network aims to create a supportive and sharing community of local writers across genres and experience levels. For more information, contact Dave at dmarvin14@msn.

Annual Strawberry Social — Wednesday, June 11

The Annual Strawberry Social will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Centre Hall.

Faith UCC Strawberry Festival — Wednesday, June 11

There will be a Strawberry Festival from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at Faith UCC in Satte College.

The cost is $10 per adult, $5 per child or $30 per family with proceeds benefiting Faith UCC’s ministries.

There will be dishes of Meyer Dairy vanilla ice cream topped with fresh strawberries and the choice of a baked “side dish” — cake, cookies, cupcakes and more, as well as a hot or cold beverage.

Nittany Baptist Church Children’s Program — Wednesday, June 11

Nittany Baptist Church will have its AWANA program for kids in grades kindergarten through sixth at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at the church in State College.

The program is designed to build a spiritual foundation in children to help them navigate life using the nationally recognized AWANA program. The program will be in building two. For more information, call 814-360-7157.

Live After 5 — Wednesday, June 11

The first Live After 5 event will feature musicians Jack Mangene, Luke Cimbala and Matt Jacobs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the MLK Plaza downtown State College on Wednesday, June 11.

The weekly summer concert series runs from June through August.
