STATE COLLEGE — Centre Soccer Association, Penn United Soccer Academy and the Nittany Valley Sports Centre are joining together in a partnership that embraces a “soccer-for-all” approach. The goal is to provide opportunities for players of all ages, abilities and objectives in the sport.

“This partnership will create more opportunities for programs within CSA on a year-round basis, as well as provide new opportunities for those players ready to compete at a higher level. We are excited about what the future holds and can’t wait to get started,” said Christian Alves, CSA director of coaching and vice president.

Three sports entities have come together to offer a cohesive approach to youth soccer in the region. Over the past six months, leaders from the organizations have laid out a plan that will help soccer players and their families navigate the soccer landscape.

“This gives the region an opportunity to come together for the good of every player. I’m really proud of what we’ve done with Penn United over the past decade and now working together with CSA will allow us all the chance to continue that mission,” said Danny Orton, PUSA director of coaching. “Whether it’s children just learning the game, staying local and playing for fun, or traveling to showcases throughout the mid-Atlantic region, we now have the opportunity to deliver the appropriate program to help players improve and love the game. I’ve recently spent time with CSA’s travel program and clinics.”

From grassroots and recreational programs to showcase teams and college-bound players, the groups are offering a unified message that allows players to find their niche, develop, learn, compete and have fun.

“The foundation of ‘The Centre’ is the idea of providing as many opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play a variety of sports. This collaboration supports that mission so perfectly. The idea that we can provide opportunities for children ranging from those just starting in the game to those looking for a pathway to higher levels of learning and play is extremely exciting. We couldn’t be happier to be part of this new partnership,” said Michael Lee, The Centre general manager.

According to a press release, by combining forces and sharing a unified vision, the coaching directors can now deploy a wide variety of resources to best serve the needs of the soccer community.

These resources include:

*Coaching and coaching education from various perspectives;

*Multiple facilities with access to some of the best soccer playing fields in the region, including outdoor fields, like Fogleman Fields, and air-conditioned indoor turf and Futsal courts. Plus, a large variety of other training spaces;

*Larger pools of players from which to form age-appropriate and competitive teams;

*Access to PA West, EPYSA, and US Club Soccer sanctioning and events; and

*Marketing and administrative support. This will provide clear communication, top-notch customer service, and ease of registration.
