STATE COLLEGE — The Centre County Sports Hall has announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
The 2026 Hall of Fame Day Celebration will be held Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Penn Stater Hotel starting at 11:30 a.m. Anyone interested in attending and purchasing tickets may contact Bethany Irwin at Bethanyirwin@gmail.com by Sept. 1.
“We are proud to welcome this outstanding class, who are representing decades of achievement, leadership, service, and lasting contributions to sports in Centre County,” the Hall’s statement said. “Congratulations to the Centre County Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026! We look forward to celebrating their accomplishments and sharing their stories.”
The 2026 Centre County Hall of Fame class has 12 inductees:
Bethany Irwin — Bellefonte, State College, St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy basketball coach
Gerald “Shorty” “Nails” Davis (LEGEND) (deceased) Philipsburg-Osceola baseball and basketball coach
Mike Fergus — State College athlete and coach
Jim Gardner — Bald Eagle Area baseball coach
Rob Irwin — Centre County Region community contributor
Dr. Alex J. Kenney — State College Area football, track and field athlete.
William “Bill” Keough — Centre County Region softball umpire
Tom Kleban — (deceased) State College Area track & field athlete and coach
Rob Krimmel — State College Area basketball athlete
Tim McCamley — Philipsburg-Osceola wrestling athlete and coach
Chris Shivery — Bellefonte baseball, basketball and football athlete
Christie Wiest — Penns Valley softball, soccer and basketball athlete
“These inductees have left an enduring mark on our communities and the athletes, teams, and programs they served,” the Hall said.
