BOALSBURG — Local golfer Laura Moyer had never scored a hole-in-one, but that all changed on Saturday, July 26, at Mountain View Country Club.
Playing with friends Angela Hoover and Grace Mehalick, Moyer scored her first ace on Mountain View’s hole No. 11, but there was something even more special than that.
Hole No. 11 is a par 4, which means that Moyer made an even rarer double-eagle, which is three-under par on one hole.
Even Mountain View head pro Jack Brennan called it a “very rare occurrence at Mountain View CC” when he made the announcement about Moyer’s achievement.
