HUSTON TOWNSHIP — A Huston Township man is facing multiple charges after police say he stole property from an apartment complex in Ferguson Township.
Nathan James Carson, 37, has been charged with felony burglary, felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor receiving stolen property and misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking in connection with missing items from an apartment at The Yards.
According to Ferguson Township Police, officers were dispatched July 20 to meet with a resident who reported several items missing from his apartment after returning from being out of the country for several weeks. Among the stolen property items were a PC tower, LG monitor, Vessell golf clubs and a robot cat litter box. The victim told police he recognized the items listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace under the name “Devin Carson,” who is also the co-defendant in this case.
Investigators discovered through state employment records that Nathan Carson worked for Cardinal Group Management LLC, the company responsible for maintenance at The Yards. A search warrant was issued for both Nathan and co-defendant Devin Carson. During the search, police recovered the victim’s monitor from Nathan Carson’s residence, along with Nike shoes belonging to another former resident.
Police said Nathan Carson admitted to taking the victim’s golf bag, computer monitor and a computer chair. Both defendants acknowledged the items were taken for resale or personal use.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1 before Magisterial District Judge Allen W. Sinclair.
