BELLEFONTE — The Centre County Board of Commissioners recently announced through a press release the appointment of Joni MacIntyre as chief financial officer, effective March 14.
MacIntyre brings a wealth of expertise and experience to this position.
She comes to the county from the Keystone Central School District, where she was responsible for overseeing fiscal operations and managing department and building budgets of $82 million.
She is a longstanding member of the Governmental Financial Officer’s Association (GFOA) and was instrumental in the development and preparation of the school district’s annual audits, schedules and statements.
MacIntyre earned a Masters of School Business Leadership from Wilkes University and a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Houston.
She and has more than 30 years of financial experience in positions of increasing supervisory and managerial responsibilities.
Her background includes extensive experience in budgeting as well as developing and implementing fiscal management policies and procedures in both the private and public sectors.
In her role as CFO, MacIntyre is responsible for the planning, organizing, coordinating and directing of the county’s financial activities including budgeting, financial planning, accounting, auditing and contract management.
As a critical member of the management team, the CFO oversees a 2022 total budget of $107.76 million and heads the financial management department.
The department provides accountability and oversight for the county budget and supports financial decision-making by the board of commissioners, administrator, other county officials and county departments.
She succeeds Tom Martin, who served as Centre County’s director of financial management.
