CENTRE COUNTY — Applications for Geisinger’s summer Junior Volunteer Program are open now through Friday, Feb. 28. Geisinger Community Medical Center, Geisinger Lewistown Hospital, Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center are accepting applications.
The summer Junior Volunteer Program will be from Monday, June 16, through Friday, Aug. 8, and provides an opportunity for teens ages 15 to 18 to learn about health care careers. The eight-week program will include weekly interactive educational sessions for participants to gain hands-on experience in different health care careers.
“Volunteering gives teens experience and an exceptional learning opportunity while they give back to their community. Students are eligible to earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award for the hours they serve,” a press release from Geisinger shared.
To apply, visit geisinger.org/about-geisinger/volunteer/youth-volunteer-programs. In addition to submitting the online application, participants will need to provide references, partake in an interview and commit to a minimum of four to five hours weekly during the summer program.
