STATE COLLEGE — Juniper Communities announced it is the first senior living organization to partner with the Vets2PM and the Department of Defense’s SkillBridge Program, providing career resources and opportunities to veterans in the community — including Juniper Village at Brookline in State College.

“The Department of Defense SkillBridge program is transforming military transitions by connecting service members with civilian career opportunities during their final 180 days of service,” a press release from Juniper outlined.

“Through this innovative initiative, service members receive valuable civilian work experience through industry training, apprenticeships or internships while maintaining their military compensation and benefits.”

Vets2PM is an approved SkillBridge provider and facilitates internships, provides certification training and manages program administration for the host companies. The program aims to provide veterans with a path to a career while growing leadership skills, building a strong work ethic and a continued passion for servant leadership.

The partnership, which is led by COO Don Breneman and the National Director of People Kristin Fogle, is a reflection of Juniper’s commitment to “doing well by doing good,” according to the press release.

Juniper Communities is the leading owner and operator of senior living facilities with operations throughout Pennsylvania, Texas, Colorado, New Jersey and Delaware, including Juniper Village at Brookline in State College.

“Juniper is offering diverse opportunities for transitioning service members in executive leadership, communications, sales, human resources, culinary services and maintenance roles,” Juniper outlined in the statement.
