STATE COLLEGE — Kish Bank and Giv Local announced the results of the Community Gifting Program on Thursday, July 24, with a total of $64,475 benefiting 133 nonprofit organizations in the community, with about 200 local businesses participating. Now in its fifth year, the program is dedicated to providing financial support to local nonprofits.
“Five years ago, Kish Bank and Giv Local joined forces through the Community Gifting Program with a shared vision: to uplift and empower the people and organizations doing meaningful work right here in our neighborhoods. Our partnership is rooted in a mutual commitment to giving back, listening closely to our communities and investing in what matters most—people,” Rik Messick, AVP and Cash Management Officer for Kish Bank, said.
“As we look to the future, we do so with gratitude for everyone involved — our partners at Giv Local, the nonprofits who inspire us every day and the local businesses who continue to believe in the power of giving.”
The gifting program allows Kish Bank customers to be able to “give back” to community nonprofits of their choice, with no extra charge. Using Kish’s debit and credit card payment solutions, powered by Giv Local, a portion of the revenue from processing is donated to the business’s nonprofit of choice each year.
“Through our long-standing partnership with Kish Bank, we’re empowering businesses to give back in a way that’s sustainable, seamless and impactful,” Christian Baum, co-founder of Giv Local, said. “Even those without a big budget can now support causes they care about — often while saving money. It’s community giving that grows with every transaction, fueled by the collective strength of our local businesses and nonprofits.”
The annual gifts uplift the missions and support the critical work of local nonprofits in communities throughout central Pennsylvania. The overall impact of the program over its five-year history now totals $189,570.
