| An article in the most recent edition of The Gazette cites (the state Dept. of Transportation) reporting that the lane closures on I-80 from the Bellefonte exit to the Milesburg exit will be in place until September 2027. Well, it’s only been a few weeks and these closures are causing local citizens much stress. Every secondary road nearby is being clogged up by traffic seeking to circumvent the backup. Semi-trucks doing 70 mph down Jacksonville Road or speeding down Rte. 144, careening around curves. Routes 150 and 64 also, with backing up traffic at the Bellefonte exit traffic light. It’s only a matter of time until there’s a fatal accident. And this is going to go on for another full year?
