CENTRE COUNTY — The Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference released the names of its Spring 2025 All-Conference track and field, baseball, softball and tennis team members on Tuesday, June 17.

Players from our local LHAC teams — BEA, Bellefonte, Penns Valley and Philipsburg-Osceola — were well represented among those honored.

Here’s a look at each of the sports:

TRACK AND FIELD

In girls track and field, Bellefonte’s Addison Fry was first in the 800M, and Bellefonte’s Madison Miller was first in the Javelin.

On the Second Team in the 3200 relay were Bellefonte’s Annie Cernuska, Althea Helms, Natalie Jolley and Fry, while Helms was Second in the 200M.

The Bellefonte team of Madyson Miller, Fry, Jayla Nau and Helms was Second in the 1600 relay, and Victoria Schellenberg was Second in the pole vault.

In the boys track meet, which was won by Hollidaysburg, Bellefonte’s Zach Hummel took first in the long jump and the triple jump, and Bald Eagle Area’s Kaiden Gates won the high jump.

BEA’s Beau Taylor took Second in the 300 hurdles.

Bedford was the LHAC girls track and field champion, and Hollidaysburg won the boys’ meet.

BASEBALL

The 2025 LHAC East baseball championship was won by Hollidaysburg, and there were two local players named to the First Team All-LHAC East.

They were Bellefonte pitcher Peyton Vancas, a team leader on the Raiders’ D6 Championship team and Philipsburg-Osceola infielder Parker Lamb.

Vancas, as well as being named First Team as a pitcher, was also named First Team as an infielder.

On the Second Team, two players from Philipsburg-Osceola were recognized, but those two players were each named in two positions.

Pitcher Archer Baughman was also named as an infielder, and pitcher Zach Yoder was also named as an outfielder.

And Bellefonte’s Parker Capparell was named to the Second Team as an outfielder.

Finally, Sam McDonald from Philipsburg was an Honorable Mention, as was BEA’s Brayden Dubbs.

Hollidaysburg also won the baseball championship, while BEA was the East Conference softball champion.

SOFTBALL

In softball, the First Team All-Conference was made up almost exclusively of players from either league champion BEA, Penns Valley or Bellefonte.

From BEA, pitcher Sierra Albright, outfielder Alexa Baney and outfielder Sydney Thompson were all named to the First Team.

From PV, pitcher and utility Taylor Bumgardner, infielder Elle Dinges and outfielder Hadley Stover were all First Team.

And from Bellefonte, catcher Jaylee Lose and infielder Taylor Brown were named to the First Team.
