CENTRE HALL — Centre County Library & Historical Museum has received a $5,000 contribution from the Partnership for Penns Valley Library Services. The funds will directly support and expand digital library resources available through the Libby platform.

Libby, the library app powered by OverDrive, allows patrons to borrow e-books, audiobooks, and digital magazines free of charge on smartphones, tablets, and e-readers. Driven by the convenience and customizable reading experience that digital formats offer, demand for digital media continues to grow rapidly. While the demand for e-books is high, so is the cost of the licenses. This contribution will be critical in maintaining a robust and up-to-date digital collection for the community.

“Since 2018, the demand for e-books and audiobooks has exploded. Our communities heavily rely on accessing digital content, and this generous contribution from PPVLS enables the library to meet a rapidly growing need. We greatly appreciate PPVLS’s continuous support and dedication to making the Library more accessible and responsive to the communities we serve” said Tina Zins, Executive Director, Centre County Library and Historical Museum.
