STATE COLLEGE — Upon the completion of the 2025 Spring season, the Mid Penn Conference named its champions from each sport and its all-conference selections and award winners.
Among the teams and players named, there was a significant presence of the State College Little Lions. Here’s a brief summary from each of the Conference’s sports.
BASEBALL
In baseball, the Commonwealth Division champion and District 3, 6A champion was Cedar Cliff, while State College finished third in the division and won the District 6 Championship with a victory over Mifflin County. The Lions finished with a final record of 10-11 overall and 8-6 in the Division.
The Little Lions’ outfielder Michael Powell was named to the First Team All-Division, while outfielder Jake Hall was named to the Second Team and pitcher Jude Scavone and shortstop Sebastian Rhoades were named to the Third Team.
Rhoades was the only senior in this group, and he was the team MVP in 2025, a 3-year letterwinner and also a 2nd Team All-State Selection.
SOFTBALL
In softball, the Little Lady Lions finished with an overall record of 12-9 with a 6-6, fifth-place final in the Commonwealth Division.
The Division champion was Central Dauphin, while Cumberland Valley was the D3 champs and State College took the D6 title.

SC shortstop Jessica Hawbaker and outfielder Mara Jade McShea were named to the First Team All-Division for 2025, with pitcher Addison Harpster and third base Sydney Wells named to the Second Team and outfielder Paige Moriarta named to the Third Team.
Hawbaker hit .393 this season with four home runs and 21 RBIs and McShea hit .448 with 20 runs, eight RBIs and one home run.
The Player of the Year was Stella Gasper from CD, and Sam Hartley from CD was the Coach of the Year.
BOYS LACROSSE
In boys lacrosse, the State College team finished with a 16-4 overall record and a 15-1 mark in the Commonwealth Division, tied with Cumberland Valley.
Senior Cooper Brushwood and sophomore Trey Combs were named to the First Team All-Division with Matt Noel, Nick Kewitt and Tennison Banks picked for the Second Team. Conor Roth and Jake Lukac were named to the Third Team.

Combs led the Little Lions with 88 goals and 47 assists and Brushwood was second with 75 goals and 55 assists.
Brushwood has been named to the First Team three times, and he was the 2024 Midn Penn MVP.
Ayden Viscount from CV was the Player of the Year and Bart Miller from Mechanicsburg was Coach of the Year.
GIRLS LACROSSE
In girls lacrosse, the Little Lions had four First Team selections — Macey Mitchell, Ella Tambroni, Emma Lally and Kenna Whitehurst.
They were followed by Lily Sidwell, Reese Hohensheit and Brielle Freeman on the Third Team.

Tambroni was a three-time captain of the SC team, a 3-time All-State selection and a 2-time All-Division First Team selection. She has four D6 lacrosse championships.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
In boys’ volleyball, the SC team qualified for the PIAA Tournament but finished behind Division Champions Cumberland Valley.
Derrick Campbell was named to the First Team All-Division Team with Carter Wright named to the Second Team and Deaondre Sheffey to the Third Team.
Senior Wright is a 4-time District 6 Champion, a 3-time All-State selection and a 3-time All-Division, First Team.
