STATE COLLEGE — Mount Nittany Health announced in a statement that they were given an “A” grade for its commitment to high-quality patient care by The Leapfrog Group.

The Leapfrog Group gives a hospital safety grade to hospitals across the United States, based on medical error prevention, infections and safety-related concerns.
“Patient safety and quality are foundational to Mount Nittany Health’s mission of ‘healthier people, stronger community,’” Kathleen Rhine, president and CEO of Mount Nittany Health, said in a statement. “We’re committed to continuous improvement and to delivering exceptional care to every patient, every day. Our ‘A’ grade from Leapfrog reinforces that commitment and is a testament to the incredible dedication of our staff.”

A statement from Mount Nittany Health noted on how the grade is a reflection on its “proactive approach to patient safety and quality initiatives, which are designed to prevent harm, improve outcomes and ensure that patients receive the best possible care.”

For Tiffany Cabibbo, chief nursing officer for Mount Nittany Medical Center, the recognition is due to the team that execute the company’s goals.
“We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our team members who make this achievement possible,” Cabibbo said. “Our providers, nurses and support staff work tirelessly to maintain a safe environment and continuously elevate the quality of care we provide to our community. Their commitment to excellence is at the heart of Mount Nittany Health’s success.”
