PHILIPSBURG — The Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership announced its board of directors for the fiscal year 2025 with 15 members.
MVEDP is a nonprofit community development organization that serves Central Pennsylvania’s Moshannon Valley region, including the greater Philipsburg area.
“In late 2024, the MVEDP held its annual board of directors election and two new board members were elected, Jerry Lese and Ryan Scaife,” MVEDP shared in a press release. “Rusty Christoff, Robert Maltais and Wanda Ryen were reelected to their seats on the board for another three-year term.”
Serving as current officers of the nonprofit’s board include Karen Blair as president, Gene Wardo as first vice president, Wanda Ryen as a vice president, Eric White as a vice president, Robert Maltais as treasurer and Dustin Minarchick as assistant treasurer.
“The MVEDP works diligently to assist entrepreneurs, existing business owners and outside businesses. The majority of its time is spent working with existing business owners on their projects,” the press release continued. “The key has been the MVEDP’s ability to offer businesses loan opportunities, building space or ready-to-go sites. The MVEDP also works to inform area businesses and municipal governments about financial opportunities that might be available through government.”
MVDEP has been involved in numerous community projects over the years, including:
- Moshannon Valley Enterprise Center
- Moshannon Valley Regional Business Park
- Moshannon Valley Enterprise Park
- Philipsburg Area Commerce Park
- Mo. Valley Revolving Loan Fund Program
- Moshannon Valley Regional Business Center
Additionally, MVDEP noted assistance to entrepreneurs such as the owners of Diamondback Automotive Accessories, Advanced Powder Products, Drucker Diagnostics and Organic Climbing, as well as attracting new businesses to the area like Cornell Companies/now GEO Moshannon Valley and Sinterstahl Gmbh/now PMG Pennsylvania.
