National Day of Prayer to be observed locally on May 7

STATE COLLEGE — The 75th Annual National Day of Prayer will be observed on Thursday, May 7. The theme for the National Day of Prayer is “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in all Generations.”

Several events are planned in the Centre region to recognize this day.

The local chapter of the Christian Business Men’s Connection is holding an open prayer event on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Military Museum, 51 Boal Ave., Boalsburg at 7 or 8 a.m. at the parade ground flagpole.

Coffee will be available. In the event of bad weather, the event will meet at the Museum Gazebo.

There will also be an event from noon to 1 p.m. on May 7 at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte at the gazebo. Several local church leaders and community leaders will be participating in recognition of the day.

Park Forest Village United Methodist Church will be open to the public for prayer in the sanctuary on May 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a prayer service at noon.
