Holiday Parking Program

STATE COLLEGE — State College Borough Parking Department and the Downtown State College Improvement District announced the Holiday Parking Program for 2025. The program is in place through Jan. 4, 2026.

Until Dec. 21:

  • Free metered parking after 5 p.m.
  • “Courtesy cards” instead of meter violations (up to a maximum of 3) 
  • Elongating the Parking Garage “Free Grace Period” extended from 30 minutes to 120 minutes

Dec. 22 – Jan. 4, 2026:

  • All transient parking sessions at metered and garage locations are free.

Stuff a squad car

STATE COLLEGE — State College Police Department is seeking the public’s help to Stuff a Squad Car with toys on Friday, Dec. 12, from 3 to 5 p.m. ⁠

New, unwrapped toy donations can be dropped off at the Municipal Building at 243 S. Allen St. until Dec. 12. On the day of the event, community members are invited to place their toys directly into the patrol cars as they’re filled for delivery. ⁠Donated toys will benefit Toys for Tots.⁠

Compost bin closed

The compost bin at the State College Borough Service Building is closed for the season. The compost bin will reopen in the spring.
