CATA announces public meeting

STATE COLLEGE — Centre Area Transportation Authority will host a public meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, in the Downsbrough Community Room at Schlow Centre Region Library, 211 S. Allen St., State College. A virtual option will be available on Zoom. Participants can find the meeting link and details on CATA’s website.

The meeting will include a short presentation on CATA services and recent updates, followed by a Q&A and public feedback session. Attendees will learn about new service changes, apps and tools for trip planning, and ways public transit can reduce congestion, lower environmental impacts, and save money on gas and parking.

The public is encouraged to attend, whether they currently ride CATA or want to learn more about local transit options. A reusable tote bag will be offered to attendees as a thank-you for participating in the meeting.

A separate meeting, held in cooperation with Penn State Transportation Services, will be held for students, faculty, and staff from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the Transportation Services Office conference room at the Eisenhower Parking Deck. A virtual session for the campus community will be offered Monday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to noon.

Coffee with a Cop

Stop by for coffee and conversations on National Coffee with a Cop Day for some coffee, tea, light refreshments, and most importantly, conversations on Friday, Oct. 2 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the municipal building lobby, 243 South Allen St., State College. Patrol officers, detectives, and Borough employees will be waiting to connect over a warm beverage and talk with members of the community.
