Nittany MinitMart donates more than 20k to support hospitalized children

STATE COLLEGE — As a result of its roundup at checkout program, Nittany MinitMart announced it donated $20,615 to the nonprofit Angelina’s Song. The organization provides music therapy to children in hospitals.

Customers and MinitMart employees came together to raise money for Angelina’s Song during the end of 2024. The Williamsport based nonprofit was founded in honor of a young girl, Angelina, whose battle with cancer inspired her family to bring the comfort of joy and music to kids across the country.

“While our Angelina was in the hospital, she got a lot of toys and gifts, but what really made her day, every day, and brought her joy was music and sessions with music therapists,” Nicole Miele, the founder and president of Angelina’s Song, said in a statement.

The December fundraiser was just one of the ways Nittany MinitMart sought to give back in 2024. The company also supported firefighters, local school extracurriculars and sports, local animal shelters, disaster relief efforts and more community driven programs through donations and fundraisers.

Giving back is part of the store’s mission to be “not just a convenience store, but a neighbor to the communities it serves.”
