STATE COLLEGE — State College Borough on Monday, Aug. 31 will implement a pilot program that will change Hiester, Sowers, and Hetzel streets to one-way between College Avenue and Beaver Avenue.
This pilot aims to increase parking spaces and provide greater access to loading zones in the east end of Downtown State College.
As Downtown State College continues to experience increased redevelopment, density, and traffic, the Borough remains committed to making travel more efficient and safer for pedestrians and motorists. This one-way pilot will help achieve these goals.
Please note that this six-month pilot can be ended at any time if safety issues for motorists and pedestrians arise. Should additional time be needed to evaluate the pilot, Borough Council could extend the program for another six months.
For more information contact the borough’s Public Works Department at 814-234-7100 or by email at publicworksdept@statecollegepa.us.
