STATE COLLEGE — Democratic Precinct Person Omari Patterson was appointed by unanimous vote to the Centre Area Transportation Authority Board of Directors by the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors on Feb. 21.
Recognizing the importance of local involvement, Patterson says, “I’m thrilled to learn more about mobility within the Centre Region and to be an asset and an ally to the other board members and the CATA staff.”
Patterson has been a resident of Ferguson Township for seven years and has long been engaged with the community, either as a baseball or wrestling coach, or a board member for his homeowner’s association and Centre Safe.
Understanding that each Ferguson ward has different priorities and issues facing their residents, Patterson is excited to apply what he is hearing in the community to align with the aims and goals of CATA.
Patterson is also running a campaign for the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors at-large seat.
“This is a marathon, and this CATA appointment is the next step toward helping Ferguson Township, the Centre Region and Centre County win at every turn,” Patterson said.
The upcoming primary election – which, in Pennsylvania, is closed per political party affiliation — is Tuesday, May 16. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 7.
