Paul Robeson Cultural Center to celebrate 50 years

UNIVERSITY PARK — The Paul Robeson Cultural Center is celebrating 50 years at Penn State with an event at the Bryce Jordan Center on April 21.

The Paul Robeson Cultural Center was formed in 1972 to provide cultural, educational and social support for Black students. Today, it seeks to provide programs and support services to encourage and cultivate the appreciation and celebration of the diverse perspectives, experiences and cultures of under-represented communities at Penn State.

Doors will open for the event at 4:30 p.m. The event schedule is as follows:

5 p.m. — silent auction opens.

5:40 p.m. — student entertainment begins.

6 p.m. — official welcome.

6:15 p.m. — dinner.

7 p.m. — 50th-anniversary presentation.

8:15 p.m. — dancing and entertainment.

To reserve tickets for the event, visit the “Reserve Your Tickets” tab on the “Event Information” page of the PRCC Anniversary website, sites.psu.edu/prccanniversary/. Hotel information for out-of-town guests is available on the “Hotel Information” page.

Parking will be available in the Jordan East, Stadium West and Porter North lots, as well as the East Parking Deck. Those without a Penn State parking pass can pay event parking on the day of the celebration or pre-pay using ParkMobile.

Dress for the event is semi-formal to formal. There will not be an official coat check, but unattended coat racks will be available.

All guests must enter the Bryce Jordan Center through the security checkpoint. No large bags are permitted inside. Only small clutch purses and wallets, clear totes or one-gallon zip-close style plastic bags are permitted in the building. There is a one-bag limit per guest.
