STATE COLLEGE — It’s time to change the conversation about menopause — again. But this time, with a little more depth, a little more connection, and a whole lot more honesty.
Pause Party Remix — Menopause Reimagined will take place on Monday, April 27 at the Innovation Hub (Room 603) in downtown State College. The evening begins with a 6 p.m. Meet & Greet, followed by the main event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
A refreshed and reimagined version of the original Pause Party, the Remix was created in direct response to what women asked for most: more conversation, more connection, and more support.
“This isn’t just about learning what’s happening in your body,” said event host and founder of The Grounded Canary, Beth Shaha. “It’s about feeling seen in it, supported through it, and connected to others who are walking a similar path. The Remix allows us to go deeper — together.”
Blending science-backed insight with real, human experience, the evening will feature a dynamic panel of local experts across women’s health, neuroscience, nutrition, movement, pelvic health, and skincare. Panelists include:
- Dr. Alexa Mieses Malchuk, MD (Geisinger)
- Samantha Backer, CRNP, Menopause Specialist (Geisinger)
- Lauren Zajac, Founder of Balance & Blossom Wellness
- Meike Haeck, Pelvic Floor Therapist, Pelvic Shanti
- Caitlin Maher, Certified Nutrition Specialist, Be Well Associates
- Amy Mutnam, Founder & Owner, AM Skincare
- Dr. Nikki Crawley, Director, Penn State Neuroscience Institute
- Dr. Nancy Williams, Professor of Kinesiology & Physiology, Penn State
Unlike traditional wellness events, Pause Party Remix is intentionally interactive. The evening will include:
- Small-group “Community Pods” to encourage shared conversation
- Guided discussions that normalize the menopause experience
- Practical next steps, including access to the upcoming Pause Party Deep Dives Series
“This is not a sit-and-listen kind of night,” Shaha added. “It’s an invitation to participate, share, laugh, reflect — and realize you’re not alone in this.”
Menopause and perimenopause impact every woman, yet many still navigate this transition with limited information and little support. Some begin experiencing changes as early as their mid-30s without recognizing the cause. Pause Party Remix aims to bridge that gap by offering both credible education and a welcoming, judgment-free space for conversation.
Tickets are $25 and available online. Attendees are encouraged to come as they are — whether that includes curiosity, questions, or even a little ’80s flair.
