Penn Highlands Healthcare announces new CFO

CENTRE COUNTY — Penn Highlands Healthcare announced in a statement on Wednesday, Aug. 21, that Douglas Winner was named the new chief financial officer of the health system.
Winner spent the last 13 years with Ascension Health Michigan, for which he worked as CFO of two regions in southeast Michigan.
“(Winner) was able to connect operations, strategy and finance to achieve meaningful planning and results. He significantly impacted the health system’s fiscal operations by developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance financial position and improve revenue growth and recognition,” a statement from Penn Highlands shared. He also worked in fiscal management positions and as a CFO for the University of Toldeo Medical Center and ProMedica Health Systems.
Winner holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Toledo.
“In this role, (Winner) will administer, direct and monitor all financial operations for the health system. In addition, he will promote clinical and administrative fiscal alignment and help Penn Highlands Healthcare identify and benefit from new opportunities,” the statement shared.
