STATE COLLEGE — No. 7 Penn State men’s lacrosse took down Johns Hopkins in the first round of the Big Ten tournament on Saturday, April 26.

Kyle Lehman led the way for the team on offense with his four goals and one assist. Matt Traynor, Ethan Long and Jack Aimone also performed well, each scoring two goals.

On the defensive side, both Alex Ross and Kevin Parnham both forced two turnovers and picked up two ground balls. Jack Fracyon had eight saves on 36 shots, allowing 12 goals against.

Once again, the Nittany Lions impressed in transition and continue to prove how deep their offense is. The last time they played the Blue Jays, Traynor scored seven goals to help Penn State and this time he scored only two.

The 13-12 win for the Nittany Lions moves Penn State to its third Big Ten Conference Tournament Semifinal and second consecutive. The Nittany Lions will face No. 3 Maryland on Thursday, May 1. The Terrapins won the first meeting between these teams 13-8.
