STATE COLLEGE — Penn State athletics to increase the price of tickets, parking and more as part of the Legacy Fund, the school announced on Friday, Feb. 7.
The Legacy Fund is an initiative in the NIL era that aims to provide further student-athlete scholarships, as well as keep Penn State’s athletic facilities up to date.
Penn State fans can expect increased prices on season and single-game tickets for all ticketed sports, season and single-game football parking, concessions, the Blue & White Golf Courses and more.
It’s important to note the Legacy Fund will not affect the 2025 or 2026 season ticket prices. Games will remain at $61.85 per outing with a $433 total.
“While there are a number of endowed scholarships through the generosity of our donors, Penn State Athletics has consistently faced a financial gap between the endowments and the true cost of scholarships for our student athletes,” Penn State Athletics said in a statement.
“Previously that gap has been covered by operating funds, but in the changing landscape of college athletics and with the potential of additional scholarships, the use of operating funds will no longer be able to cover the growing costs associated with scholarships.”
The fund is set to become a foundational element to Penn State athletics moving forward, with no sign of it going away. The Legacy Fund has been set for 2025 and 2026, but plans for future dates are subject to change.
The news of the fund comes on the verge of the House vs. NCAA settlement that is expected to remove scholarship limits on football and other athletic teams. Instead, the NCAA will implement a roster limit of 105. This will add 20 additional scholarships to the college’s already hefty expenses.
Penn State athletics made sure to note that this is not a player talent fee similar to that of Clemson or Tennessee. While those funds will go directly to paying players as part of the new revenue-sharing pool for athletes, the Legacy Fund is strictly for scholarships.
