Penn State women’s gymnastics makes NCAA tournament

UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State women’s gymnastics clinches a spot in the NCAA Championships, the university announced on Monday, March 24.

Penn State is one of four teams set to host the regional section of the tournament in Rec Hall from Wednesday, April 2, to Saturday, April 5. Schools making the trip to Happy Valley are No. 1 LSU, No. 8 Michigan State, No. 9 Kentucky, No. 16 Arkansas, Maryland, West Virginia, No. 17 Michigan and No. 25 Ohio State.

Penn State will take on Michigan State, Kentucky and Ohio State in the second session on Thursday, April 3.

Penn State beat No. 25 Ohio State during senior day on Saturday, Feb. 22, in a thrilling 196.525-196.300 meet. The Nittany Lions also fell to No. 8 Michigan State 195.475-197.150 at a neutral site on Sunday, March 2.

They have not faced Kentucky yet this season, but the Wildcats have faced off against two Big Ten teams this season with Ohio State and UCLA. They beat Ohio State but fell to UCLA.

Tickets for all sessions are open for purchase now. Adults pay $32 and $20 for children 12-and-under. For those purchasing in groups of 20 or over people can get a discounted rate by calling 1-800-NITTANY.
