UNIVERSITY PARK —The Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra is the region’s leading all-professional chamber orchestra, providing artistically superb concerts and a variety of educational and community outreach opportunities under the direction of music director Gerardo Edelstein.
The PCO presents three season concerts of dynamic musical selections, highlighting local and international soloists, as well as holiday, family, and educational performances in a variety of venues around Central PA.
Four performances take place at the Penn State Recital Hall including the opening concert Autumn Impressions on Sunday, Sept. 27, the annual Holiday Concert on Friday, Dec. 18, Between Light and Darkness on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2027 and Dance Into Spring on Sunday, May 2, 2027.
The PCO will also offer the community a free family concert on Saturday, March 20, 2027 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Guest artists this season include Ukrainian violinist, Solomiya Ivakhiv, guest choir Cantores Convallis, guest conductor Fernanda Lastra and local pianist, Melody Quah.
Opening Concert
This season’s concerts include a spectacular opening concert Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. at Penn State Recital Hall. The music is filled with the vibrant colors of Latin America, the lyricism of German Romanticism and the symphonic brilliance of nineteenth-century France.
