PHILIPSBURG — The Philipsburg-Osceola Little League turned 75 years old on Saturday, May 17, and it had a giant celebration under its brand new scoreboard at Homer Maney Memorial Field in Philipsburg.
The festivities included an opening ceremony, the introduction of the 2025 major and minor teams, players and coaches and then four games to start off the new season.
The day also raised funds for Alvin Williams, a second grader battling cancer and his family with sales, promotions and a silent auction.
Additionally, Williams threw out the first pitch in the opening game.
Besides being the 75th year of the Little League, this was also the 60th year that the Little League has been playing on Homer Maney Field.
