By JAIMIE MILLER/Pixie Dust Wishes
Pixie Dust Wishes presented its 24th wish on Thursday, March 28, to Caden Hull from Pleasant Gap. The wish presentation took place at Hummingbird ABA Therapy on Sandy Drive in State College. Hummingbird is a proud sponsor of Pixie Dust Wishes and provides applied behavior analysis services for those with autism and other behavioral diagnoses. Started in 2017, Pixie Dust Wishes’ mission is to grant wishes to those with disabilities throughout the Centre County region and beyond.
Jaimie Miller, executive director, started Pixie Dust Wishes, inspired by her own daughter, Emma, who has Down syndrome. She wanted to share with others the magic of Disney that Emma loves so much.
Pixie Dust Wishes provides a retreat from the daily challenges of having a disability, as well as helps loved ones and caregivers navigate those challenges.
The organization provides a five-night, six-day stay on Disney property and takes care of every detail so the wish recipient and his or her immediate family can truly experience the magic.
Caden cannot wait to start planning his trip that will take place this fall.
If you would like to learn more about Pixie Dust Wishes, visit their website at pixiedustwishes.org and consider making a donation to them during Centre Gives on Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9, so your donation can go further and they can continue to grant wishes to others like Caden.
