The annual YMCA Polar Bear Plunge, which will take place on Dec. 6, features brave community members who support the Bellefonte YMCA by plunging into the frigid waters of the dam at Black Moshannon State Park near Philipsburg. Every dollar raised through this effort helps the Y give back and support local communities in the Bellefonte YMCA service area. Bellefonte Elks Lodge 1094 donated $1,000 to the Polar Bear Plunge effort this year.
