Police responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred on Aug. 15 at approximately 2 a.m. on I-99 north at approximately mile marker 58 in Taylor Township. According to police, Unit 1 struck a guide rail on the left side of the roadway where Unit 1 came to a final rest and then caught fire. Police stated Operator 1 was able to exit the vehicle prior to Unit 1 catching on fire. Police said Operator 1 sustained a minor injury to his neck from the seat belt.

Police responded to a call of trespass that occurred on Aug. 14 at approximately 12:30 p.m. on East College Avenue and Reservoir Road in Benner Township. According to police, after a thorough investigation it was determined that trespassing did occur. Police stated contact was made with the actors and charges were filed.

Police responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred on Aug. 3 at approximately 2:30 a.m. on South Eagle Valley Road just north of its intersection with Canyon lane in Boggs Township. According to police, the crash occurred as Unit 1 left the northbound lane and began traveling in the median. Police stated Unit 1 hit and damaged a traffic sign in the median. Police said Operator 1 fled the scene and failed to notify police of the crash.

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Aug. 20 at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the 3500 block of Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township. According to police, the crash occurred as Unit 1 entered into the oncoming lane to pass slower traffic. Police stated that Unit 1 ultimately struck Unit 2 head-on. Police said Operator 1 was deceased upon arrival as a result of the crash. Police stated Operator 2 was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for further evaluation and legal blood draw for suspicion of DUI.
