Police responded to a commercial vehicle crash that occurred on Sept. 11 at approximately 10:30 a.m. on I80 east near mile marker 168 in Marion Township.
According to police, Unit 1 went off the right shoulder of the roadway, then negotiated back onto the roadway and overturned.
Police stated Unit 1 then slide across both eastbound lanes and down an embankment.
Police said Operator 1 was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries.
Police stated life saving measures were attempted but were unsuccessful.
