STATE POLICE AT ROCKVIEW
State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, in the area of Paradise Road and Old Paradise Lane in Penn Township. According to police, officers observed that a 2008 Subaru was stuck in a ditch and unable to drive out of it. A 26-year-old Coburn woman was arrested after police accused her of driving under the influence of drugs.

State police responded to a theft around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, along East Sycamore Road in Snow Shoe Township. According to police, $235 worth of fuel was stolen from a Moshannon man’s 2016 Freightliner Corp. State police did not release additional information.

State police responded to a report of identity fraud around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, along Penntech Drive in Benner Township. According to police, a Sandy Ridge woman’s identity and personal information were falsely used to rent an apartment. State police did not provide additional details.

State police responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash around 4 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, along Earlystown Road at the intersection of Tusseyville Road in Potter Township. According to police, a 25-year-old State College man was driving a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee when the vehicle left the lane of travel towards the right, hitting a utility pole head-on. The Grand Cherokee rolled multiple times before coming to rest. The State College man driving the Jeep was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries. A 20-year-old State College woman was a passenger of the vehicle and was also ejected, sustaining serious injuries. The 25-year-old State College man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

State police responded to a report of a woman passed out in a bathroom around 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, along Enterprise Drive in Rush Township. According to police, they found used paraphernalia on a 50-year-old Osceola Mills woman. Charges in the incident are pending, police said.

State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, along Interstate 80 in Boggs Township. According to police, a 32-year-old Fresh Meadows, New York, man was driving a 2023 Nissan Rogue west on I-80 when he swerved to avoid hitting an animal in the road and ran into a ditch on the left side of the interstate. The 32-year-old driver was reported to be uninjured and was cited for the crash, police said.

State police responded to an incident of open lewdness around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, near the intersection of North Main Street and Gettig Lane in Spring Township. According to police, a 22-year-old Coburn man threatened physical harm against four victims before dropping his pants to expose his bare backside to the victims and passing motorists. The 22-year-old Coburn man was charged with open lewdness, harassment, disorderly conduct and careless driving, police said.

State police found a 30-year-old Philipsburg woman in a stolen vehicle and in possession of drug paraphernalia around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, near North Front Street and East Pine Street in the Philipsburg Borough. State police did not report additional details.

State police accused a 23-year-old Bellefonte man of having drug paraphernalia on him around 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug 22, around the intersection of Sunnyside Boulevard and Dew Drop Lane in Spring Township. Police did not report additional details.

State police responded to a single-vehicle accident around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, along South Eagle Valley Road in Huston Township. According to police, an 18-year-old State College man was driving a 2022 Ram vehicle when he lost control. Police said the “young inexperienced driver” hydroplaned on the wet road and ran into the ditch. The 18-year-old driver is suspected to have minor injuries and was cited for the incident, police said.

State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, along Interstate 80 in Snow Shoe Township. According to police, a 40-year-old Kalamazoo, Michigan, man was driving a 2014 Buick Verano when a bird hit the windshield of the vehicle, causing the 40-year-old driver to swerve left into the median of the interstate. The driver hit a tree, where the Buick came to a rest. The driver was uninjured as a result of the crash, police said.
