STATE POLICE AT ROCKVIEW
State police responded to a crash around 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, along Jacksonville Road in Marion Township.
According to police, a 68-year-old Bellefonte man was driving a 2018 Ram 2500 when he stopped in the southbound lane waiting for traffic to clear before making a left turn onto Forest Avenue when he was rear ended by a 2018 Kia Sportage driven by a 49-year-old Bellefonte woman.
The 49-year-old Bellefonte woman was unable to see the 2018 Ram 2500 due to the sun setting directly into her line of sight, police said.
The 68-year-old Bellefonte man was suspected to have minor injuries.
State police responded to a crash around 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, along Interstate 99 in Spring Township.
According to police, a 35-year-old Tyrone man was driving a 2012 Ford Escape when he crossed over the rumble strip median and hit a 2025 Honda CRV driven by a 66-year-old Bellefonte woman head-on.
Both drivers and the 11-year-old passenger in the Ford Escape were reported to have minor injuries. The 35-year-old Tyrone man was cited for the crash.
State police responded to a theft around 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, along Millgate Road in Benner Township.
According to police, the suspect wrote a check to himself valued at $927.87 using a 45-year-old Bellefonte man’s checking information.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, along Millheim Narrows Road in Penn Township.
According to police, an 18-year-old Millheim man was driving a 2006 Mercury Milan when he lost control and hit an embankment.
Police did not report any injuries, but the driver was cited for the crash.
State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, along Old 220 Road in Howard Township.
According to police, a 27-year-old Howard man was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt when he lost control in the snow and hit an embankment, causing the vehicle to flip onto its roof.
The driver is suspected of having minor injuries and was cited for the crash, police said.
State police responded to a report of a disabled vehicle around 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, along Interstate 80 in Boggs Township.
According to police, a 25-year-old Youngstown, Ohio, man was found to have numerous warrants out for his arrest in addition to a search warrant for the vehicle revealing a small amount of cannabis.
Charges in the incident are pending, police said.
State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 11 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, along Winkelblech Mountain Road in Haines Township.
According to police, a 36-year-old Millmont man was driving a 2018 Toyota Tundra when he tried to negotiate a right curve while the road was covered in inches of snow. The driver lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the road, down an embankment and hit a tree.
Police did not report any injuries, but the Millmont man was cited for the crash.
