Police were notified of an identity theft which occurred on Aug. 29 at approximately 11 a.m. on the 100 block of Aztec Court in Union Township. According to police, the victim’s identity was used to open a new phone line unknown to the victim. Police stated the investigation is ongoing.

Police responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred on Sept. 25 at approximately 5 a.m. on I-80 West near mile marker 159 in Boggs Township. According to police, a 24-year-old male from Brooklyn, NY was driving a 2021 Mack Truck that had mechanical problems that caused the operator to lose control. Police stated the unit stuck a guard rail and then overturned onto the passenger side down the embankment off the right side of the roadway. Police said the operator was evaluated by Bellefonte EMS and declined treatment. I-80 was reduced to one line and ultimately closed completely with a detour in place while PennDOT removed the vehicle.

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Oct. 3 at approximately 4:30 p.m. on State Route 144 in Milesburg Borough. According to police, a 76-year-old Milesburg man was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt when he failed to stop and pulled out onto SR 144 and was struck by a 58-year-old Bellefonte male driving a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Police stated there were no injuries reported.

Police responded to a crash that occurred on Oct. 6 at approximately 1 p.m. on I-80 West bound near mile marker 154 in Boggs Township. According to police, a 64-year-old Mill Hall male was driving a 1998 International Harvester Paystar when another vehicle attempted to pass in the left lane and striking the Harvester in the 10 o’clock position. Police said the Harvester became disabled while the other unit continued to travel on I-80 West bound.

Police responded to a pedestrian hit by vehicle on Sept. 28 at approximately 11 a.m. on Benner Pike in Benner Township. According to police, a 59-year-old Bellefonte female was driving a 2018 Ford that struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway. Police stated minor injuries were reported by the pedestrian.

Police conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 31 at approximately 9:30 a.m. on I-99 South bound near mile marker 67.8 for title 75 violations. According to police, a passenger inside the vehicle was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Police stated appropriate charges were filed.
