Police are investigating after a Philipsburg women found a note of a threatening nature burning on her back porch on Aug.

2.

On Sept. 11, police said Clayton Policastro, 43, of Renovo, stole a license plate from a vehicle in Lock Haven and drove to Valley Ace Hardware in Boggs Township. There, police allege he stole multiple items before leaving the area. Police said Policastro was later identified and charges were filed through district court.

Police said they are currently investigating an inmate-on-inmate assault that occurred at SCI Rockview on Sept.

22. Police said the inmates were involved in a physical altercation when one used a weapon made from glass and a plastic utensil to cut the other in the head and eyes. The investigation is ongoing.

Jeffrey Krause, 39, of West Decatur, was arrested for alleged possession of MDMA, drug paraphernalia and a prohibited offensive weapon on South Eagle Valley Road and Zendt Lane in Worth Township on Oct. 4, said police. Police also reported that Krause had an active bench warrant out of Centre County.

Police said they responded to a crash on Jacksonville Road in Marion Township on Oct 9 after Heather Roy, of Lock Haven, fell asleep while driving and drifted into the opposing lane of traffic. Her vehicle traveled off the road and into a cornfield before striking a utility pole head on, shearing the pole in half. Police said Roy was transported to Lock Haven Hospital for minor injuries. A passenger was unhurt, police said. Roy was cited for driving on roadways not laned for traffic.

On Oct. 9 police said they stopped Joseph Lloyd Winter, 40, of West Decatur, for operating a vehicle with dark window tint on Pardee Road in Morris Township, Clearfield County. During the stop, police said they learned Winter was wanted by the Centre County Department of Probation. A vehicle search revealed a loaded Ruger M77 rifle and approximately 7 grams of methamphetamines with related paraphernalia, police said. Winter was placed in Centre County Correctional Facility on the probation warrant. Concealed weapons without a permit and drug charges were filed with District Judge Jerome Nevling.

Police reported that Alexandria Lingle, of Boalsburg, fell asleep while driving on Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township at 2:12 p.m. on Oct. 10. Police said the vehicle traveled off the right side of the highway and struck a tree. Police cited her for driving on roadways not laned for traffic. Police said she suffered a suspected minor injury. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police are looking for information after a hit-and-run crash occurred on state Route 26 in Spring Township at 7:46 a.m. on Oct. 11. Police said that while a vehicle was backing into the lane of travel, it crashed into the front of another vehicle and then fled the scene, driving south on Route 26. Police said the vehicle is a white Honda hatchback car with a white license plate, possibly from Maryland, and has damage to the rear end and a broken rear window. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Rockview at (814) 355-7545.

Police are investigating a suspected theft of packages on East Pine Street in Philipsburg on Oct. 11

Police said they arrested William Foresman, 51, of Naples, Fla., on two counts of recklessly endangering another person after he got into a verbal argument with a man and a women also from Florida, and allegedly retrieved the woman’s Ruger LCP .380-caliber handgun and fired two rounds into the victim’s bed on Yarrow Way in Benner Township on Oct. 11.

Police said they arrested Shannon Bacher, 34, of Houtzdale, after she allegedly concealed $54 worth of items in her purse and walked past all point of sale locations at Weis Markets in Philipsburg on Oct. 18. Police said Bacher was placed in Centre County Correctional Facility.

Police filed harassment with physical contact charges against two juvenile females after authorities responded to a fight at the Meadows Behavior Health Center in Potter Township on Oct .19.

Police said they filed harassment with physical contact charges against Lydia Sellers, 29, of Carlisle, Cumberland County, after she allegedly slapped and punched a man during a verbal altercation at the Meadows Behavior Health Center in Potter Township on Oct. 20.

A 17-year-old Philipsburg boy was cited for harassing an 18-year-old Philipsburg man via Facebook on Oct. 20, said police.
