A 49-year-old North Carolina man crashed and caused damage to his car at an unknown location Jan. 8, according to police reports. The man was found to be under the influence of alcohol by police and charged with DUI and hit and run.

Corrections officers at SCI Rockview found synthetic marijuana on inmate Kai Damu on Jan. 19. He was charged with possession of contraband.

An inmate at SCI Rockview was charged Jan. 22 with indecent assault. Police said inmate Derek Clifton touched the rear end and breast of a female Department of Corrections employee without her consent.

Police responded to Snappy’s Convenience Store in Potter Township after a 34-year-old Howard man took $35 worth of gasoline without paying for it Feb. 1. He has been charged with retail theft by police.

Police responded to a crash on Buffalo Run Road, Benner Township, on Feb. 4 at 5:19 p.m. Police said driver Samuel Gribble, of Bellefonte, was traveling at approximately 35 to 40 miles per hour when he attempted to negotiate a curve in the roadway during a snowstorm. Gribble’s vehicle slid off the snow- and ice-covered road and struck a utility pole, causing severe damage to his vehicle. Police said Gribble injured his left wrist and was charged with driving on lanes not marked for traffic.

On Feb. 6 police said they found a 44-year-old female who had an active warrant for possession of drugs and paraphernalia in State College. The investigation is ongoing.

Police were called to SCI Benner after corrections officers found a homemade weapon in the waistband of inmate Stacy Bailey on Feb. 7.

PHILIPSBURG STATE POLICE
Police have charged Alan Seeger, of Port Matilda, with recklessly endangering another person, after authorities indentified a person in his vehicle throwing nails on Steele Hollow Road numerous times from July 2017 to February 2018.

Police are investigating a break-in at 132 Morning Glory Road, Worth Township, on Jan.7 after unknown suspects pried open a basement door at the residence. Police said once inside, those responsible pushed or kicked open a locked room and may have taken a box of rifle ammunition. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (814) 342-3370.

Police reported that a firearm was taken from a glove box of a vehicle parked outside 400 Hill Street Extension, Unionville Borough, sometime between Feb. 1 and 11. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
