STATE COLLEGE — The 2025 State College Quad Swimming Meet was held in the State College Natatorium on Dec. 3, and there were many meet and pool records set.

Mercersburg Academy, Emmaus and North Allegheny joined the Little Lions for the meet, and there were 22 events for both boys and girls in the competition.

Although there were no published school totals from the meet, all four teams had swimmers who found successes, especially those from North Allegheny and State College.

The most impressive of those swimmers was senior Molly Workman from State College.

Workman set three individual pool records and was a member of two relay teams that also set pool records.

Workman set individual records in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.86, the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.53, and the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.10.

She was also on the 200 yard FR relay team with Molly Staniar, Ellen Woodruff and Ilsa Reite who set the pool record with a time of 1:36.01.

And she finished her record-setting day with the 400 yard FR relay with Reite, Gabby Siekman and Sawyer Barshinger and coming in with a time of 3:31.71.

There were two other records set as well by other teams.

The North Allegheny boys set the 200-yard relay record with a 1:25.01, and Jayden Kwon from Mercersburg set the 200-yard IM record with a 1:52.59.

Also in the winner’s circle for State College were Evan Koehle, who won the 500-yard boys’ freestyle with a 4:43.08, and Siekman, who won the 100-yard girls’ backstroke with a 58.40.

There were seven records set in all in the meet that State College head swimming coach Aaron Workman said was very successful.

His team will now enter the regular Mid-Penn Conference schedule with meets coming up against Hershey, at home on Dec. 16, at the Bucknell Invitational on Jan. 3, at Chambersburg on Jan. 6 and at home against Williamsport on Jan. 10.

The team’s final three meets will be against Central Dauphin, Mifflin County and Cumberland Valley.
