PHILIPSBURG — Bellefonte boys soccer team opened the 2026 season in impressive fashion, erupting for 10 goals in a 10-1 rout at Philipsburg-Osceola on Aug. 31 in a game that had a 1:15 delay.
“The guys came out very aggressive and hungry tonight after the weather delay,” Bellefonte coach Scott Martz said. “You could tell they were hungry to play. It was nice to see the different guys scoring and getting nice shots on goal. Our defense was solid all night. A lot of guys got to play tonight and gain some experience.”
Seth Caton netted a hat trick, scoring three first-half goals. He scored the first goal on a penalty kick at the 3:44 mark. Caton scored his second goal off an assist from Cole Stabinger at 10:25. His third goal was unassisted at 33:53.
Stabinger scored at 5:33 and assisted on another goal by Jamin Ondrasik at 14:31. Ondrasik assisted on a Keegan Timblin goal 27 seconds after Caton’s second goal. Ondrasik scored his second goal at 46:53 off an assist from Lincoln Aberess at 46:53.
Pyrce Smith booted in a goal in the second half after an assist from Wesley Cooke. Christopher Savage scored the final goal at 77:00.
Bellefonte outshot P-O, 27-5, and held 6-1 advantage in corners.

STATE COLLEGE BOYS
The State College boys team, which enters the season on the heels of winning its sixth straight District 6 Class 4A title in 2025, opened the 2026 season on Aug. 22, battling to a 1-1 tie at Hollidaysburg.
State College’s goal was an own goal. Erik Sulman made five saves in goal for the Little Lions, who were missing five players who were taking SATs.
