TYRONE — With the Bald Eagle Area softball team leading Tyrone by two runs in the top of the sixth inning, Raelee Repasky hit a grand slam — her sixth home run of the season — en route to an 8-4 win on May 4 at Tyrone.
BEA (11-4) was trailing Tyrone, 1-0, until Maelee Yoder drove in a run with one of her two hits. The Lady Eagles scored three in the fifth on a Casey Angellotti double, bunt single by freshman Carlee Close and wild pitch.
That set the stage for Repasky, who also had a double in the game.
Winning pitcher Karlee Fisher gave up eight hits and walked one.
“We played very well behind her,” BEA coach Don Lucas said, “with Burns and Macey Guenot playing very well at shortstop and the outfield.”
Angellotti had a big day on May 3 at Penn Cambria, collecting three hits, including a home run and a double, driving in four runs and scoring three runs to lead Bald Eagle Area to a 16-3, five-inning thrashing.
The Lady Eagles connected on 10 hits and took advantage of nine Penn Cambria errors. They scored eight runs in the first inning.
Addisyn Burns had two hits, including a double for BEA, drove in a run and scored twice. Repasky, Macey Guenot, Yoder, Harlee Witherite and Kendall Gavlock doubled.
Witherite gave up six hits, struck out seven and walked one in five innings in the pitching win.
The schedule for all Centre County softball teams was light because of the weather. The week of May 4 was the last full week of the regular season.
STATE COLLEGE
State College swept a home doubleheader against Cedar Cliff in convincing fashion, 17-1 in five innings in the first game and 17-7 in the second game, on April 28.
A couple days later the Lady Little Lions lost to Mechanicsburg, 6-0, at home. On May 4 on senior night at home, State College beat Cumberland Valley, 3-1.
Kara Rhinehart pounded out three doubles in the first game, while Lily Williams had two doubles. Paige Moriarta hit a home run, while Sarah Williams doubled.
Moriarta tossed a two-hitter, struck out nine and walked one in five innings.
Elizabeth Sikorski homered in the second game, while Rhinehart, Lily Williams and Moriarta belted doubles.
Gabby Harpster tossed a six-hitter, struck out eight, walked one and gave up no earned runs.
Against Cumberland Valley, Moriarta struck out 15, tossed a three-hitter and walked six. Rhinehart hit a home run and doubled for two of State College’s five hits, while Victoria Witmer doubled.
Lily Williams had a double against Mechanicsburg. Moriarta took the pitching loss, giving up five hits, five earned runs and seven walks while striking out nine.

PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA
Macie Bush and Emily Gustkey had three hits apiece to lead Philipsburg-Osceola to a 12-5 win at Bishop McCort on May 1.
Bush and Gustkey both went 3-for-5 for the 17-1 Lady Mounties. Bush also had a home run, triple, three RBIs and three runs scored. Gustkey had an RBI and scored three runs.
Bush pitched the first six innings, tossing a four-hitter and giving up two runs while striking out five and walking two.
Kendyl Meersand had two hits, including a run-scoring triple, and Morgan Vaughn also had two hits.
BELLEFONTE
Bellefonte’s Abby Herr and Bedford’s and Emma Byers dueled in the pitching circle on April 30 at Bedford. In the end, undefeated Bedford came out on top, 2-1.
The Lady Red Raiders (7-8) responded with a 4-0 win at Clearfield on May 4. Ella Herr went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs for Bellefonte, which scored two runs in the first inning and two in the fifth inning. Riley Santostefano had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs.
Adrienne Masullo tossed a one-hitter against Clearfield while striking out four and walking one. Masullo connected on 59 strikes among her 87 pitches.
The Lady Red Raiders had eight hits off Clearfield pitcher Joelle Henry, who struck out three, walked two and gave up two earned runs.
Herr tossed a two-hitter, struck out 12, walked three and 68 of her 96 pitches were for strikes. Byers hurled a three-hitter, struck out seven, walked two and 50 her 82 pitch were strikes.
Bellefonte scored its only run on an Ella Herr second-inning single that scored Abby Herr, who had doubled.
The Lady Bisons were scoreless until they scored two runs in the fifth inning. Annalise Van Horn had an RBI single.
