BOALSBURG — Rooted Farmstead will hold its second annual seed exchange on Sunday, Feb. 23, at Boal City Brewing, 281 Old Boalsburg Road, Boalsburg, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Rooted Farmstead recommended on the Facebook event page bringing what you can give and only taking what you know you will use.

The event typically uses one-for-one exchanges. However, if attendees want to bring bulk seeds, they are encouraged to bring more than one type of seed. Along with this, note cards and seed bags will be provided at the event.

“We encourage you to share a story behind what you bring. Maybe they’re heirloom seeds handed down from your grandparents? Or your aunt’s favorite flower? Or do you have a favorite recipe to share for the veggies plants you brought? We will provide note cards to share your story,” the Facebook event said.

Tables at the event will be organized by different plant categories. Attendees are encouraged to place the seeds they brought to trade on their respective tables before they begin exchanging with others.

People of all ages are encouraged to come to the event so they can collect seeds. Admission is free.
